Residency
KAAF residency programme fosters artists internationally by providing them with equiped studios and cultural support, as well as opportunities to exhibit their new works.
We believe diplomacy shouldn’t just be left up to politicians. Artists are cultural and social changemakers, and we are passionate about creating opportunities for artists to bring a broader cultural understanding into their work and communities.
Some of our residency programs are incorporated within larger institutions. Residencies can be a part of museums, universities, galleries, studio spaces and municipalities.
Sometimes residents become quite involved in a community - giving presentations, workshops, or collaborating with local artists or the general public. At other times, they are quite secluded, with ample time to focus and investigate their own practice.
Many times a residency experience is only the beginning of a longer relationship. Residents often return to complete a project they started, to begin a new collaboration, or participate in an exhibition, panel or workshop.

***Do I have to donate a piece of art? Do I have to give a talk?
No you do not. We only ask that you participate fully in the art scene of Tehran. This means participating in planned residency activities and engaging with our community as much as you are able.
